Break the Suspect is an AI detective game built for role-play. Every suspect is an AI character who knows what really happened, what they are hiding, and how far they will go to hide it. You stay in character as the detective, ask anything you like, and the suspect answers in character, in their own voice. The case is solved when the guilty one confesses.

Why AI suspects change the detective game

Classic detective games run on dialogue trees: a fixed list of questions, a fixed answer to each. Once you have seen the tree, the mystery is over. AI suspects do not have a tree. They react to your exact words, remember what they told you five minutes ago, and can be caught when their story shifts. Two players can break the same suspect in completely different ways.

A role-play with rules, not a blank chat

Open-ended AI role-play is fun until nothing is at stake. Here the case has a fixed truth. The killer, the motive and the twist are decided before you walk in, and the suspects cannot rewrite them to please you. That gives the role-play something to push against:

• A real solution. One suspect did it, and the evidence supports it.
• Characters who protect themselves. They deny, deflect, go quiet, or ask for a lawyer if you push too hard.
• Evidence that lands. Slide a lab result or a still from street footage across the table and watch how each person reacts.
• A win condition. Only a full confession, in the suspect's own words, closes the case.

Good for English practice
