Each case is a murder with a victim, a scene and suspects who lie. You question them out loud until someone gives you the full story.

• Second Vows

  Victor Amsel renews his vows at a lakeside tent party. At 11:20pm he says he's checking the boat lines. At 1:10am he's at the bottom of the boathouse stairs. Three people had a reason to be near the water, and nobody has a clean hour.

• The Back Stairs at Gull's Rest

  Daniel Marsh leaves the bar at 10:45 with a head full of whisky. By 11:20 he is at the foot of the back stairs, and the staff corridor has no witnesses. The Gull's Rest stays open, and nobody checks out.

• The Caller

  Margaret Ellison drives across the country to see the sea. She makes it as far as the Lantern Rest Motel. At 1:40 a.m., 911 gets a call, and by the time paramedics arrive, she is gone.
